Project Description
Need a customised solution for your energy woes? Happy to help!
Laingam Iron House, Imphal
Laingam Iron House is a small blacksmith shop run by the couple – Thangjam Liangam and his wife Thangjam Merina of Sagolband Thangjam Leirak. They were largely dependent on manual tools for their work. The tools included manual blower to heat the metal, hammer which weighed more than 3 – 5 kilos making their work very tedious. The couple were facing health issues, demands were barely met and they could never deliver orders on time.
A simple innovation in the form of solar powered blacksmith blower and power hammer, designed & implemented with the help of SELCO Foundation, was a solution to most of their woes. To them, the power hammer is saving electricity costs, time and increasing their overall output. Admittedly their income multiplied and health issues have reduced.
