Who we are

Eartheners installs solar across Manipur and the North East. We were incorporated in January 2013 and have been working ever since — through the pandemic, and through the conflict years, without letting our team go.

We are a social enterprise. That is not a label we added later; it is why the company exists. We would rather tell a customer that solar is not right for their roof than sell them something that disappoints them.

What we work on

Rooftop solar for homes

We are currently installing grid-connected rooftop systems across Manipur under the PM Surya Ghar subsidy scheme, reaching more households every week.

Solar water heaters

Reliable hot water without the electricity bill — a simple product that pays for itself faster than most people expect.

Solar for livelihoods

We have installed livelihood systems across Manipur and Nagaland, and we are now working towards 1,000 new solar-powered livelihood interventions before 31 March 2027. This is where much of our social impact happens.

Energy for health

More than 500 healthcare facilities powered across the North East, many of them in places the grid does not reach reliably.

Where you would be based

Imphal. At present, most of our work is in and around the valley districts. Some roles involve travel from time to time, but this is not a job that keeps you away from home.

The openings

Sales Associate

1 position

About the role

You meet customers, work out what they actually need, and guide them from the first conversation through to a signed order.

We do not do aggressive selling and we do not want you to. We win work by being honest — sometimes that means telling someone solar is not right for their roof. Your job is to be the person they trust.

What we're looking for

Someone people trust quickly, who can explain a technical product simply
Comfortable in Manipuri and English; Hindi helps
Self-driven, and fine with being measured on results
0–3 years of experience — the right fresher will be considered

Customer Engagement Assistant

1 position

About the role

You are the first person a customer talks to. People call, message on WhatsApp, or write to us on social media wanting to know what solar would cost them. Your job is to answer them properly.

This is not a hard-selling job. You explain honestly what we offer, and pass genuine enquiries to our technical team. If someone is not a good fit, you tell them that too.

What we're looking for

You listen well and genuinely want to help
Clear in Manipuri and English
Comfortable with a smartphone and basic computer work
Freshers genuinely welcome — we will train you

In-House Content Creator (Junior)

1 position

About the role

We are not very good at showing people what we actually do. That is the gap you would fill — out at our sites with a camera, filming installations and recording what customers have to say.

We are not looking for an experienced cinematographer or editor. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, working alongside our external creative agency.

What we're looking for

Keen to learn camera work, framing and editing
Comfortable doing different things in a day
Shoots on a camera or a good phone
DaVinci Resolve, Canva or InShot a bonus, not a must

Technician

2 positions

About the role

You install and service our systems — rooftop, water heaters, livelihood systems and health facilities. On most jobs, you are the one leading the team on site.

That means more than doing the work well yourself. It means keeping the site organised, keeping the junior technicians safe, dealing with the customer politely, and making the call when something does not go to plan.

What we're looking for

1–3 years in solar, electrical or a related trade
You can lead a small team and stay level-headed
Mature and dependable — you take ownership of a site
Comfortable working at height on rooftops

Primarily the valley districts around Imphal. There is some travel from time to time, but it is occasional rather than routine.

Junior Technician

5 positions

About the role

An entry-level, hands-on job for someone who wants to learn a real trade. You do not need any solar experience.

You need to turn up on time, work safely, and want to learn. We teach you the rest — on the job from day one, with theory sessions and reviews along the way.

What we're looking for

Fit enough for outdoor work and comfortable on a rooftop
Reliable, punctual and careful about safety
ITI, Class 10 or Class 12 — all fine
No solar experience needed

Where you'd work

Primarily the valley districts around Imphal. There is some travel from time to time, but it is occasional rather than routine.
